Geçiş kontrol sistemleri, modern binalarda giriş ve çıkışların denetimli ve izlenebilir olarak yapılması, kilit altında tutulması gereken yerler için anahtar kullanımının azaltılması, CCTV (kapalı devre televizyon) ve diğer güvenlik sistemleri de entegre edilerek bina güvenlik yönetiminin üst düzeyde sağlanması için kullanılırlar.
